Garibaldi Cultural Heritage Initiative
MISSION & Purpose
to explore, promote, and enhance the rich cultural heritage and natural history of the Tillamook Bay Region.
The Garibaldi Cultural Heritage Initiative is a non-profit 501c3 organization formed to preserve and rehabilitate one of the most iconic cultural landmarks on the Tillamook Bay: the retired Tillamook Bay US Coast Guard Boathouse known as Pier’s End..
This pilot project guides the organization to examine possibilities for the Historic Boathouse while creating opportunities to share local maritime heritage, enrich the lives of residents and visitors, and encourage safe and sustainable enjoyment of the natural environment.
This is a community-based, volunteer effort and your support is most welcome; to get involved please contact us or join our GCHI Facebook group to stay connected! https://www.facebook.com/groups/GaribaldiCulturalHeritageInitiative/
board of directors
Our volunteer board is comprised of local educators, citizens, community leaders, and Port authorities who share a passion for promoting and preserving the heritage of our region in order to shape its future in a positive way. Their leadership provides an avenue for expanding youth outdoor education programs, community-building activities, and workshops that teach about the local history, culture and modern industries shaping Oregon's coastal natural resources.
